$420 Million in Debt

Money can create so many issues in day to day life wbecause of corruption. It is so important to know about our elected leaders fiannces so that we can prevent them from corrupting the system. Donald Trump has said he woudl release his taxes for decades now. Well, when they were finally released (no thanks to him) they showed he owes over $420 million. A staggering amount of debt. Who is this money owed to? How can this person or persons use this as leverage? Most of this debt will be coming due in the next 4 years aso only a short amount of time will tell. These same documents also show the President paid only $750 in taxes for the years of 2016 and 2017, due to incredible business losses.

An LGBTQ Wave

The dumpster fire that is American politics makes it difficult to find anything good sometimes, and some days just feel so hopeless. How did the country become controlled by Mitch McConnell? Every day has its new gifts, from Trump being a general embarrassment to absolutely devastating news.

Punny Deadhead Costumes

While we've talked about Grateful Dead Halloween costumes here in the past, I was thinking that it would be really fun to create some punny costumes that make people guess. I'm enjoying them more this year than I normally do; Halloween is all about the spooky things for me, but this year calls for a bit of humor.

Some ideas that I've had include literal scarlet begonias, a costume with just a hint of grey in it, wearing a box with a raincloud hanging over it, and of course, Casey Jones with a twist--maybe the Ninja Turtles version but in a tie-dye shirt!

Favorite Fall Reads

Don't you just love a good seasonal setting to get you in the mood? I have read so many great winter and summer reads that make me feel even more like living in season than anything else going on, like Summer of Salt and The Tourist Attraction. But I can't say I've read a lot of fall-themed books and wanted to reach out to see who has some good recommendations.

Prime Day Deals

Prime Day is here, which means a lot of deals on items that people are searching for, but only for a brief window of opportunity. While I'm trying to reduce my Prime shopping and spending in general, I definitely understand why people use Prime Day to get a few items they may need.

The various lightning deals are hard to pass up, especially if you have broken gadgets at home that need to be replaced, or you have some birthdays coming up to buy for. Many people even use this time of year to purchase holiday gifts.

The Funniest Poems You've Ever Read

Celebrities reading their fans' Tweets is an absolute utter delight for me these days, and when I saw this video of Tom Ellis reading his fans' "thirsty Tweets," I cracked up like I figured I would. Caution: many are NSFW! Some fans are downright shameless when it comes to professing their feelings for their celeb crushes.

In Ellis's case, one fan wrote a poem of sorts that made me spit out my tea. These are so hilarious!

Sipsby Subscription Boxes

One of the things that has kept me from signing up from a tea subscription box is that there are so many great brands to try it's hard to narrow it down. Sipsby is a subscription box that does that for you! You sign up and select the types of teas that you like (such as black, herbal or green) and they custom create a box for you each month featuring brands like Stash, Tea Drops, Tea Pigs and more!

One of the big questions about exploration of the Moon is whether it contains are valuable assets that can be mined. Water is a good bet. Ice has already been discovered and water can be split into oxygen and hydrogen which can be used for rocket fuel. Another good bet is helium-3 which is rare on Earth but common on the surface of the Moon.
